Seasonal? What does that mean?

Because of the considerable differences in firelizard and dragon anatomy, the mutations that appear in firelizards do not follow the same lines as those of dragon, or indeed of whers. However, sport colors do exist in firelizards. They are simply much broader sweeping and less categorical than in other dragonkin. In character, firelizards will make their relative rank known to their bondmates, and while they may not look correct for that 'color' they will be treated as such, often just called a 'weird blue or 'weird queen.'

Out of Character, Sapphos has a unique spin on firelizard clutches. If mutants will appear in a clutch, they will be designed following specifications based on the current real world (northern hemisphere) season! Thus, there are twenty sport colors of firelizards on Sapphos, all of which parallel the sizes and ranks of the regular colors. They are as follows:

Mohark Colors

Moharks also appear in seasonal variations, though these variations are extremely rare. In addition, moharks in the original six firelizard colors are rare as well. Currently, only one exists, and she is a chimeric cross who technically ranks under Opal anyway.
